A LITTLE BOOK OF CHEER

how to make a meandor book

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
a piece of 12 x 12 card stock ,plain or patterened whichever you prefer.
contrasting colour to make the book covers and 4 book marks
white /cream/kraft card stock for embelishments
the example was calypso coral covers and tags, with a 12x12 piece of mellow moss as the booklet.
punches...
scallop circle
1 inch circle
Simply scoring tool from su, and ruler(awesome invention)
ribbon to match
stamp set vintage vogue
silhouette sentiments (retired)
polka dot punches set (retired)
double sided tape
extra tacky ds tape
dimensionals. glue dots

take your 12x12 and score at the 3 6 9 inch both directions.so you end up with a grid of squares.
on the first score line start at the 3 inch ,then cut up from the 3 inch through the top of the paper . move over to the next score line. on this line you cut from the 9inch line down through . Again move over to the next score line and repeat first cut, coming in from the first score line 3in up to the top. you should get a effect similar to the picture above.
you then begin to fold it as above start on the unattached end and fold up then down, when you get to the top fold under and continue to fold up and down till you get to the end,
now you will need to work out what is the top. as we are making a series of pockets you want all your ends facing upwards , remembering there will be a piece in the middle that will go side ways, i slipped a small tag into it. i strongly suggest you "you tube "at this point the meandor book, as if you are like me i am a visual learner and need to see it done.the difference between the you tube vid and this is that i used all stampin up products, the vintage vouge set is a personal favorite and i suggest you think about getting it , its one you will use time and time again.
also i added ribbon where she did not use it .
once you have worked out what is the top you need to go page by page and tape up the open sides of the pockets. the placement of the tape varies , so if you keep in mind it has to open at the top (except the centre one) then you wont put tape where its not wanted. i keep checking back that i am still on the right track. when you get to the middle one tape it so it sits opening out on the side of the book, then continue on as normal.
using your 3/4 inch punch punch out half circle shape from the top of the openings so its easier to get the tags out, when you get to the middle one punch out on the side as you id on the top of the others,, then return to punching from the top till you get to your last page

place a piece of ds tape on each side of the booklet ,try to match the placement and attach the strip of ribbon to both sides.
using sticky strip apply tape to all edges on both sides.
place cover one down on table and as the book is 3 inchs it is a 1/2 inch smaller so you need to try to centre the book onto the cover, extra tacky tape is fantastic and strongly recommend it i sell it from stamping up but it is also very unforgiving ,if its stuck on its stuck so be careful...lol i talk from experience. again repeat with the other cover and the booklet is together.
sponge the edges of the cover and the edges of your bookmarks and pocket. stamp pocket with vintage vogue and cut out the flower from the series add a brad and attach to the pocket, inside the pocket i punched a 1.1/2inch circle and stamped the friends part of that stamp set. on a scrap i restamped the friends but just cut out the f and used dimesionals to pop it out slightly.
Stamp out 8 scallop stamp polka dot punches set and punch out 8 scallop circles. sponge edges.attach to book marks, and stamp some sentiments and pictures fromsilhouette sentiments or similar.buttons etc here would be good too.
on each page on the right hand side stamp out the bird on the wire stamps.
and crafters the rest is all up to you, would love to see what you make ...cant wait to see

table/pedestal legs and table base part 1

tables above using three different stampin up punches all label punches and the tag. orders can be done online , also kits are going to become available for beginners so you can make there's with ease and further guidance.  punches
these tables are so easy to make yet they look hard, heres a tutorial about them to share with you , as you can see dressed up the possibilities are endless... so lets get going....

making the pedestal.table base and top

For the table to take shape you need in hand some supplies

Tools needed

For this table you will need cutter as always

Card stock (scraps are fine) but you need enough to fold 4 pieces in half so I tended to use one piece and embellish with the rest.

Tab punch, or curly lable or decorative large label punches

Sticky strip

Scorer

Scissors

and ....you

so here is this little cuties recipe , you just size them up according to height, you can use tab punch, curly label punch and decorative label punch , and I’m sure many others  sold from stamping up, if you are interested in any product shown contact me , it might be time to see what's stampin up is all about and why it is so very popular internationally.

, you need to watch assembly so you make sure it’s all lining up, I do the legs one at a time and measure off the next one. Now to add a top you can use the scallop square large circle frame lits (my favourite) or plain, I sat Easter bunny on mine at Easter as above  he’s still sitting there.

So here is  the basic tutorial and after that I will fill you in on dressing it up so here goes  The pedestal originally designed by Kim score (guess we best do it its half a tutorial she did} I just changed it to a table hers was a Easter egg box but regardless we need to recognise her so thank you Kim for the basic concept. she has a great blog too check her paper punch addiction site out its pretty cool she is very very good at punch art.

now,   Cut a 3-3/16” x 3-3/16” piece of card of your choice I chose riding Hood Red card stock. Score at 1/2” on all four sides. Clip on one of the 1/2” score lines at each corner as shown. Cut a tiny wedge on each side of the corner tabs. This way, the corners fold in more precisely. As shown above. using sticky strip fold corners in and tape to form table base top

Cut four 3-1/8” x 3-1/8” pieces of riding Hood Red card stock. Fold each piece in half.
Slide the Round Tab punch onto one side, aligning one edge at the centre score line and Inserting the card stock as far is it will go into the punch.  After punching one side punch the other side in the same manner (don’t flip over and punch on the same side you just did or the four pieces will not align perfectly). Punch all four pieces in the same manner. Align the edges of the 4 pieces and glue in
Place to form the pedestal. Cut a 3-5/16” x 3-5/16” piece of riding Hood Red card Stock.
Score at 1/2” on all sides. Clip on one 1/2” score line at each corner to form tabs Secure tabs with glue at the corners. Place finished piece onto pedestal.
if you desire you can stamp or emboss the legs but I advise you do it before assembly as its too hard once together, one lady embossed the legs it looked lovely but it did distract from the legs a bit , also inking the edges I have learnt makes the legs pop a bit esp. if it’s in the same colour!!!! But I’ll leave that up to you

punch out four pieces of your choice of label or tag punches, the possibilities are endless
upside down view after assembly

Now the curly label punch can be used instead with same specs ,so can the large label punch however remember to size up accordingly as it is a longer punch and requires more length and a bigger table.  when ends to fit assembled they look like this upside down, you may have to snip theends to fit , I attach with tomboy glue or hot glue gun if you wish then turn your
 table over

From here we can decorate in so many ways as seen in original photo, all that was a 2inch by 12 inch skirt scored on the new score board and wrapped around with ribbon on top and a flower brad to finish it,

the flowers on top were the 5 petal punch and the bird punch for foliage, I snipped the ends of the petals off as some weird American lady showed me in a video lol. Take a few thin cut strips to make stamens cut bottom of flower when pulled together  inked and dried so the stamen can go in attach stamen with glue dot to stay the other the table is the new frame lit embossed in rich razzleberry use crystal effects once flowers are inked
so when assembled they look like this upside down, you may have to snip the ends to fit , I attach with tomboy glue or hot glue gun if you wish then turn your

table over. And let’s embellish. tomorrow ill show you a few ideas such as the frame-lit table idea you see above and how to make this be a card too. so stay tuned .happy crafting and welcome kerrie

BACK AS PROMISED...
SO HERE WAS WHAT I DID WITH MINE I HOPE THESE PICS GIVE YOU SOME HELP

PUNCHES USED TO DRESS IT UP PLUS SIMPLY SCORED  BOARD.

SO I MADE THE TABLE LID PUNCHED OUT THE LEGS AND USED THE FRAMELITS TO COT OUT A TABLE TOP AND EMBOSSED THROUGH BIG SHOT.

USE EXTRA TACKY TAPE WHEN MAKING THIS PROJECT.

TABLE CLOSE UP

 EMBELLISHED

THE END RESULT!!!!!!!!!XXXX

NOW THE MESS THANKS BOYS FOR YOUR HELP ....NOT LOL
see where the kids were playing stamp it up .HMMMMMMMMMMMM
